Life Sanctuaries: |
| It is situated on the border of Ponda and Sanguem
taluka in the north of the state and is located in a bowl shaped
valley surrounded by hills. One can see animals in their natural
habitat and does have a zoo and botanical garden. Accommodation
facilities are also available for the tourists. And is open
throughout the year, the best season to visit being October
to March. Daily bus service is also available. |

| This is the oldest sanctuary in the state and
is situated in the sanguem taluka . It consists of ranges of
the western ghats and originally the sanctuary was known as
"Molem Wildlife Sanctuary”. The best season to visit
is October-February and is open throughout the year. Collem
railway station falls within the stanctuary area. One can reach
here via train from Margao and /or Vasco. |

It is located along the southeastern border
of the state and falls in Canacona taluka of Goa. It consists
of hilly ranges of western ghats and includes undulating lands.
The park constitutes many fauna and guides are available to
help in locating various animals and plant species. This is
open through out the year and the best season to visit is November
to February.

Located in the island of Chorao which can be
reached by ferry boats from Ribander. This sanctuary is the
home to mangroves, an unusual mudskipper fish variety. A variety
of coastal birds which inhabit Goa.
Near the sanctuary is the village of Chorao is quaint village
of Portuguese style villas surrounded by white washed churches.
Chorao is a lovely island and visit to this island is a worthwhile
on its own and which can be enjoyed by renting a motorbike because
other public transportation is less frequent here. Best season
to visit here is September to May. |
