| Poonam village resort was established
on a full-moon night on november 1977 and was officially the
first hotel located near Anjuna beach. It was
in the good ol' days when most of the visitors were the much
talked about 'hippies and backpackers' flocking to Goa from
all parts of the globe. They organised the popular full-moon
beach parties with 'live gigs' and candle light.
Poonam village resort is surrounded by exotic plants and
beautiful birds that wake you up with their gentle singing.
The first guests to this resort were a group of Canadians,
Germans, British, Israeli, French, Italian and Australians
who stayed on for the full season and came back repeatedly.
Many of their old guests whenever they come down to Goa
gave us their mouth-to-mouth publicity which we acknowledge
has been the backbone of their success. We are also truly
grateful to international guides like Lonely Planet, Reutarde,
